Random Monday fab-ness: All white nursery

And the award for "Best use of a White Moroccan Leather Pouffe in a nursery" goes to:

Full House
PS Full House is another one of my favorite decor blogs. Go check it out, you'll love it. Oh, and it's authored by a mother of twin girls and triplet boys. Amazing.

Table Tonic: The week in review

Things that I didn't love about last week:
1. Toddler got carsick and almost threw up in the car yesterday. Fortunately, she needed to wee, so it was the Shell service station who copped it. (I think this was god's' way of telling us Nintendo DSi XL's aren't for 2 year olds... Even whingeing ones.)
2. The relentless rain in Sydney. Wettest May in 7 years, apparently, resulting in many a "must build an ark" joke on Twitter (guilty!). PS Don't forget to follow Table Tonic on Twitter.
3. The new shipment of Moroccan Pouffes for my online store is proving elusive. Still waiting... Thanks to all who are waiting along with me so patiently. Won't be long.
4. Did I mention the rain? On the upside, the garden is looking swell!

Things that I loved about last week:
1. My new(ish) black ugg boots. Can't. Get. Enough.
2. Some very exciting Gold Moroccan Pouffe press in OK magazine here in Australia.
3. Husband got an iPad. Incredible technology. Jealous. Proved handy for "reading" Toy Story 2 with a bambino under each arm on a rainy Sunday arvo.
4. A comment left here on this very blog by "The Madonna of the interior decorating world" (that's how I described her to my husband), Anna Spiro.
4. And last night? Husband made the best Oxtail soup I am ever likely to taste (below). Carrots, turnips, parsnips, potatoes, green beans, red wine, beef stock, orange zest, a cinnamon quill.... Tastebuds were doing backflips (I went back for thirds).
5. Both children ate aforementioned soup with gusto. Toddler particularly loved it - even after diluting it with half a cup of weak Ribena (not shown).

Stylish Homes: Editor of Vogue Australia, Kirstie Clements

As an avid reader of tres chic glossy, Australian Vogue, I would expect nothing less from Editor Kirstie Clements's Sydney home. Architect Scott Weston (below, centre) told The Design Files: "The philosophy was to examine traditional Moroccan decorative tiling patterns and architectural forms, and reinterpret those ideas in a simple contemporary way. Continuous linear forms, curved shapes & strong grids formed the backdrop to then apply the in-built architectural decorative quality & colour throughout home." View the full post here.

Scott is certainly one to watch. Oh, and I highly recommend you take this Apartment Therapy house tour of his Redfern, Sydney home.

Kelly Green Interior Design inspiration board

There are only a handful of Australian Interior Designers who share the "American" decor aesthetic, as I call it. Anna Spiro (who only just welcomed her second son, Max into the world) is, in my opinion, a bit of a pioneer of the look - and she totally puts the "Vegas" in Brisvegas! Another one to watch? Kelly Green Interiors. A gorgeous blog and an equally gorgeous blogger, who recently wrote: "Big news is that I have finally put my inspiration board together... What joy to get all this out of my files and on to a board where I can finally be... well... inspired by it!" And boy am I glad she did - It's a beauty!!

What can't you live without, Jenna Lyons?

Cool blog: Ampersand Design Studio

If you haven't yet visited Ampersand Design Studio's blog? Well. This is what you're missing:

Colour kaleidoscope: Lydia Hearst for Vixen magazine

Model/heiress Lydia Hearst, photographed by Elias Wessel for Vixen Magazine Spring 2010. As Rachel Zoe would say "Buh-nanas". PS Check out the rest of the editorial here.

Budget DIY of the day: Marimekko tea towel art

Found this little gem over at Urban Style Vibes - artist canvases covered with marimekko tea towels. Genius. And easy-peasy to boot. Don't know about you, but I'm inspired!

Room of the week: Chillaxin' Morocco stylee

Here's something I wouldn't have thought to myself upon seeing this beautiful space 10 years ago: "Some poor person has to cart all those cushions inside each night... I wonder if they would get mouldy....hmmm...perhaps they're scotch guarded?..." And PS if I didn't have (two) small children? I'd be whipping up an outdoor fire pit faster than you can say jiffy firelighter.

Where to buy: FOR LIKE EVER poster

After it was featured on the cover of the September 2006 issue of Domino magazine, Tracy Jenkins's "For, Like, Ever" poster become so popular that the company who makes the posters, Village, has reprinted it, several times (putting the price up along the way!). And if you've ever admired it? Guess what??! YOU CAN BUY IT HERE! PS Shipping charges are US$0.00 (USA), US$25.00 (Canada), US$40.00 (International). PPS The poster does not come framed. (Don't care. Stoked.) PPPS A Table Tonic reader recently left a comment asking the very question that inspired this post - "Where can I buy the poster?", but I can't seem to find who left it. This one's for YOU!

Happy weekend!

{ domino }

Domino. Again. Just because.

"Pink is the navy blue of India" - Diana Vreeland

Pink. Often a colour that polarizes, but quite possibly the most passionately adored of all hues. And rightly so (yes, I'm a recent convert). After this post went down so well, I thought we were long overdue for more pink-tacular eye candy on Table Tonic. So. Let's go.

Domino

And did you know, the colour pink:
::  Stimulates energy.
::  Can increase the blood pressure, respiration, heartbeat, and pulse rate.
::  Encourages action and confidence.
::  Has been used in prison holding cells to effectively to reduce erratic behavior.

PS If its purple that blows your hair back, I apologize. You might want to click HERE.

Woollen Poufs from Pedlar

"Handmade in Holland in tiny quantities by two sisters (twins, in fact), these woollen poufs are lovingly constructed in exactly the way that a pompom is made.  They are really heavy and robust and should last forever." If I had £850? I'd be going here and totally buying these. One of each, thanks. Oh wait. That's £2550...

What's in your beach bag, Kelly Wearstler?
