"A large, sculptural mirror, inspired by the reflective quality of diamonds"? I'm guessing you're all nodding along excitedly with me right now... Jake Phipps? You make your mother proud.

OMG appliance: "The Magimix Vision Toaster"
Hi. Would you pay $499 for a toaster? Wait. Okay, what if it was Voted by GQ magazine as “One of the 50 Best Things in the World Right Now”? Oh, and did I mention it was see through? Well. The nice people at Magimix have spent the past 15 years creating "the Vision toaster", which allows you to view your toast through "double insulated" glass windows as it... toasts. I'm not even joking. Check it:
The Magimix Vision toaster will retail for $499 (you'd want to be serious about your carbs) & will be available from David Jones from 10th August. So what do you think? The most exciting thing since sliced bread or gimmick? On another note (sort of), have you ever tried buttering your bread before you put it in the toaster? Oh my giddy aunt, it's THE BOMB!!!
On my bookshelf: "Interiors Now!" Volume 1
I was recently sent a copy of a beautiful interiors book, "Interiors Now!" - the first volume of Angelika Taschen's series on contemporary interiors. What's inside? 414 pages of hard-core eye candy, in the form of "the world's most amazing, exquisite and interesting apartments and homes from Antwerp to Zurich, via Chiang Mai, Copenhagen, Mumbai, Moscow, Tokyo and Shanghai". They're all incredibly beautiful, creative spaces and if you need a bit of inspiration for your home, you've found it! I would describe this book as "The Selby goes A-list". And I can't speak highly enough about it.
The many magnificent home featured, include:
• Gallerist David Gill's gallery/flat in London • A "businessman's" penthouse in Athens, Greece • Art Director Rama Gilles & furniture/product designer Alain Gilles's "Lofthouse" in Brussels • Publisher Angelika Taschen's Berlin apartment • Gallerists Nicole Hackert & Bruno Brunnett's German villa • Fashion Designer Roberto Cavalli's apartment in Milan, Italy • Writer Alexander Timofeevsky's apartment in Moscow, Russia • Designer Samira Leal & Architect Rafic Farah's Sao Paulo House
Angelika Taschen was right on when she predicted that "these houses, residences, apartments and studios are destined to astonish and inspire you, irrespective of your personal taste". I don't think there was a single home in this book I didn't like absolutely adore. Buy it here.

60 Queen Street, Berry - Can we buy it? Can we? Can we?
Anyone who's ever been to Berry, on Sydney's South Coast, has ogled walked past 60 Queen Street, aka "Bel Air", and probably, like me & Mr Tonic, stopped and stared for a good 25 minutes. It's currently rented out as holiday accommodation, and has starred in many a photo shoot, and now? You can buy her!!!!! PS They want "around $1.1 million". Yes, Tonic-ettes. I was so excited I enquired. In our minds, Mr Tonic and I have already moved in. And you're all invited to come and sun yourselves on the patio(s) anytime! Ugh. In my dreams.

Stylish Homes: Ara Design Studio
Remember this dreamy home from Australian Vogue Living magazine?
Picked your jaw up off the floor yet? It belongs to Sarah Davison, of Sydney-based Ara Design Studio. They specialize in residential interior design, and this home in Palm Beach (on Sydney's Northern Beaches), has to be one of the most perfect interiors I have, like, EVER seen. Serious. And don't even get me started on the decor... I could happily call this my "forever house"! P-E-R-F-E-C-T-I-O-N.

Ahead on Table Tonic: Sneak peaks-a-plenty!
The contents of today's mailbox? September 2010 Australian House & Garden magazine! Even better? No bills (for once)!
And let me tell you, it's a cracker of an issue. The best in a long time, in my humble opinion. And now that my camera is safely back in my arms (let's just say it enjoyed the Rosie's Cottage experience a little longer than the rest of us!), there will be a sneak peak soon! Plus, oodles more to come from these guys in the next few days:

Obsession of the hour: Robert Gordon Ceramics
Having discovered Robert Gordon Australia ceramics yesterday (thank you SOHI magazine), I am now obsessing over it. Can't get it out of my head. Planning my purchases for the kitchen in my mind (did I mention they have an online store?! Ker-CHING!) Ugh. Those dreamy pastels have got me all swoony. PS Stop by the Robert Gordon "Pottery Cottage Blog" sometime too. It's "delightful", blog-ified!

Mastercrafter: Making pom-poms using your fingers
Just found this super tutorial for making pom-poms using your fingers - no cardboard required. Gotta love that.
Diane von Furstenburg for Claridges Hotel
So, Diane von Furstenburg is designing 20 rooms for Kate Moss's favorite hotel, the UK's Claridges, "bringing her unapologetically exuberant style to an Art Deco landmark. Three rooms have been completed so far — the others, each unique, will be done by the end of the year". I just love DVF. Always so smiley and happy looking. And let's face it, the woman sweats glamour. Read the full article here.
